Sur son blogue, la photographe-cinéaste montréalaise Selena Phillips-Boyle présente des images issues d’un éventail de projets professionnels. On y découvre notamment des portraits professionnels réalisés pour des organismes communautaires, une série de portraits d’entreprise, des photos de mariage faites en montagne et des images de couples photographiés chez eux. Selena partage également des vidéos de campagne réalisées en partenariat avec des organismes communautaires, des chercheurs et des chercheuses. Dans le monde médiatique d’aujourd’hui, la photo et la vidéo permettent de raconter des histoires percutantes. Je me spécialise dans la mise en récit par l’image. En collaboration avec les organismes communautaires et les syndicats, j’utilise la photo et la vidéo pour témoigner du remarquable travail qui se fait au quotidien dans nos communautés.

Inspirée de la métaphore du kintsugi, l’art japonais qui permet de réparer les pièces de poterie, cette vidéo explique comment les femmes ayant vécu des périodes de violence peuvent se reconstruire avec le soutien de la communauté.

Using the metaphor of kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery, this video discusses how women who have experienced periods of violence can, with community support, rebuild their lives.

Même s’ils s’étaient d’abord imaginés un événement grandiose, le mariage simplifié émane l’élégance donc Benjamin et Marc rêvaient. Ce mariage a lieu à La Toundra au Parc Jean Drapeau à Montréal.
