As they sit down together on the wooden bench, the rest of the wedding party slowly drifts away. A few quiet moments together on their wedding day. Various emotions drift across their faces before Dileshni bursts into laughter with Krzysztof joining her in laughter moments later. They maintain this beautiful range of emotions throughout the day, with Krzysztof's vows culminating with "I hope you'll love me half as much as you love Izzy."
We start the day with a first look surrounded by nature. As their wedding party joins them in the lush green forest, the energy of the group is tight-knit. Their low-key yet beautifully elegant wedding reflects Krzysztof and Dileshni's personalities. I scout a spot with fall colours for the couple—vibrants reds and oranges in the leaves, the perfect compliment to Dileshni's cream sari and Krzysztof's navy blue suit. Before we leave Evergreen Brick Works, I capture some group portraits on a path with gentle fall light spilling over the shoulders of my subjects.
Following a Sri Lankan wedding tradition, three Kandyan drummers lead the wedding procession ahead of the groom's side of the wedding party. Next, their dog Izzy walked up the aisle to join Krzyzstof and Dee at the front. Afterwards, four Kandyan dancers lead the bride's side of the wedding party. From start to finish their ceremony was simple and intimate, bringing a feeling of closeness to everyone who supported the couple on their wedding day.
